Musician (piano, voice, sax, clarinet), composer and singer-songwriter, Mix has written, recorded and produced eight solo albums to date, two albums as ‘Spoondrift’ with Swiss guitarist Philippe ‘Monkey’ Aeby, and two albums collaborating with composer and musician Hutch Demouilpied. She has also written and published two books of solo piano music, Piano Mixture and Spanish Piano Mixture.

Mix studied music from the age of seven, starting with piano, then moving through violin, viola and oboe before landing on clarinet and alto sax, and went on to study Jazz and Contemporary Music at the City of Leeds College of Music in the UK.

Based in London for many years, Mix always focused on making original music, forming bands Private Bag, Jinx, and the first incarnation of Spoondrift, recording, showcasing and performing with Hutch, and gigging with her own band in New York in 2001. She was also a session musician, playing with many international artists; she has toured Europe, the USA and Japan playing sax and keyboards for bands and musicians such as Groove Armada, funk legends Pee Wee Ellis and Fred Wesley (James Brown Horns), ABC and Dina Carroll, and performed one-off concerts with singers such as Jamie Cullum, Tony Hadley (Spandau Ballet), Gloria Gaynor, Boy George and Pete Cox.
